Possible Recall???
Sunday, January 04, 2009 11:07 AM
I seen this on a few sites, saying that Dorman products is recalling 3,900 intermediate steering shafts on the 2005 cavaliers. is said the welds are breaking, as a result, you have no control over the vehicle. does anyone know is dorman products is after market, or are they contracted with GM??? I need to know if my car is safe to drive. lol This is one of the sites I found this at, http://www.automotive.com/2005/49/chevrolet/cavalier/recalls/73968.html

Edmunds shows it as a recall as well. If you bought it used it could have been already done. A quick call to your dealer, they can look it up on their computers once you give them your VIN number and see if it has been fixed or not.

Humm this is interesting, I bought it used 2 months ago. I will call the dealer and ask them about it. Thanks for the fast reply!
