I was surfing the internet and found this video and quite a few websites about the vauxhaul cavalier, do
they just happen to have the same name or are they just a foreign version of the chevy cavalier?????

http://tr.youtube.com/watch?v=ciHQJYT9E3U

this is a test drive video from back in the day of an 81 vauxhaul cavalier. thought it was interesting.

Yep. it's a J-body with all it's 106mph topspeed glory.
The 1991 MK4 Opel/Vauxhall is J component using Opel chassis which is not that much different (chassis) from today's Saturn Astra, Chevy Cobalt/ Pontiac G5.

The Chevy Monza sold in the US was from 1977-1980, using the H platform. It was previously know as the Vega. They came with the 2.5L(151cid) Pontiac Iron Duke 4cyl, the 3.8L(231cid) Buick V6 and the Chevy 5L(305cid) V8 (Monza Spider). I was working on one for a mini stock dirt car till I got married....

They also came with the 140ci Vega GT aluminum block engine. I know, I owned a 1977 Monza 2+2.

The last Monza I saw.... had a bunch of crap done to it and the owner said it was fast.... but IDK if it was or not....

And did anyone else think it was funny (in the video) when she said the car was supposed to have a top speed of 106mph and the car was coming up on 120....

holy cow , LMAO

umm it was 75-80 for the monza , in 78 there was a monza wagon that took place of the out going vega wagon

also they had alot of motor options , the 2.3 vega motor , the 151 duke , a 231 buick v6 , 229 chevy v6 , 262 , 265 , 305 and 350 v8's , the spyder was a trim package and could be had with any motor , the mirage(IMSA body kit) mostly only came with the v8 , but some have heard of v6's

all this talk of Monzas makes me laugh..

my mom had a '64.5 Mustang, and my dad made her trade it for a '79 Monza 'cause he refused to have a Ford in his yard... and that Monza turned out to be a giant POS that would never stay running and left my mom stranded countless times

Forgive me, I forgot a ot of those other details, I was working on that in the early '90s. One of those cases where you forget more than you remember! Or is it I'm just getting old?!?
