so to make a long story short, someone drove by my parked car on the street and hit my driver's side mirror and cracked it, i orderd the part (only the glass part) already and it will be here Tuesday.
now i dont want to have to pay fo installation, so how do i get the glass part of the mirror off and on to the rest of the mirror?
i tried looking behind the mirror and tugging a little bit, but i dont want to break it out cause i still need to drive from now till tuesday.
can anyone help me out with instructions or a diagram even?
-Thanks

Most people buy new assemblies (per side) for $30 on ebay, and bolt it on.

With any luck, your '04 is similar to my '96. The glass is on a central ball pivot. Get a flat screwdriver up behind in dead center 'til it don't go no more (should be against the 'ball'). Gently pry the glass away from the backing. BIG TIP: get the parts warm by blow dryer to lessen the chance of breaking.
