Paint rubbed off on doors/drunk???
Saturday, April 29, 2006 9:12 PM
Has anyone every heard of this. The other day I went into my trunk and noticed that all around where the weather stripping touches my trunk the paint is gone. Its down to bare metal. The when I got into my car I noticed the same thing on the door, Both passenger and driver side is like that. Anywhere there is weather stripping the paint is gone.

I took it to the dealer and they said they have never seen that before, but said my trunk/doors fit perfect. No fitment issues at all. They sent me to a bodywork company and they said the same. My doors and trunk is now going in Monday to get painted and their putting in all new weather stripping, But has anyone ever heard of that before??

I'll take pics Sunday afternoon and post them.

DId it result in rust on your cars. Or will it rust out if not handled? Any idea on how to fix properly.

Wasnt there some sort of 100000 miles rust protection or warranty on these? But then again you may be over that.

Well I went back to the dealer, and got a run around. The head of that department told me that since it was only a "appearance blemish" that she would not put in to have it fixed. But i am welcome to but some touch up paint and apply it. !%$^ her!!!! She said seing as in the is a 100,000 mile rust warranty, and its not rusted, no need to fix it. and people wonder why Americans buy Hondas and such.

SO a guy in that Department told me to call GM and place a claim. That they would relook it for me. So thats what im doing.
