hello all i am new to this site and j bodies but not new to cars brief background i just dropped the nissan rb20det into a 95 nissan 240sx and got it plumbed and everything in about two weeks.

But, enough of that i just purchased my j body and the man told me i needed to change out the a/c controls <my car is a 2003 cavy bow, for one out of a junk yard or a unit off ebay

he says this because my defrost dosent work the heat works fine ,yes i read the i dont have heat post, but if i try to change the setting in which it comes out it just keeps hitting my chest and arms was the man right or what could it be

ive checked the coolant level so theres one down.

thanks for your time

if its not changing where the heat comes from, it could be the switch. take it apart and look for a series of tubes connected to the back of it, reseat them all. our controls are all vacuum operated, so look for a vacuum leak in the engine bay as well.

when i had my deck installed at best buy, the a holes just jammed all the wires in there, and put a kink in the line of the cable that changes to defroster setting. It was stuck in the off position. The dash had to be taken apart and the small rubber coated wire needed to be replaced, cost $100

there is a cable that bends and also the foam seal on the door likes to come loose and keep the door form functioning correctly.
