Heater core would be antifreeze and that wouldnt freeze like he stated. Do you have a sunroof? If so check the drain tube and be sure its attached to the sunroof drain and then runs out of the car like it is supposd to.

check your floor mats

if they're wet, is the heater core

A/C drain tube? Yes i know its winter and you dont use the A/C, shut up. A/C just doesnt cool the air it removes mosture too. The A/C can be removing the mosture but if the drain is plugged then its just going to run right back into the cabin.

I have ran into this problem with a few tractor trailers.

Yes, if it is WATER on the floor, good chance it is the A/C drain tube. Defrost DOES turn on the A/C, and a plugged drain = wet carpet. If it is Cooland, then heater core.

he said its froozen so that should rule out a heater core right away. If the coolant that leaks out freezes then you have bigger problems to worry about than a heater core leak. The evaporator drain is another good possibility, just never seen it on a j car.
