heater core?

So the other day I noticed natifreze coming out of the drain hose from the ac/heatercore (in the firewall) and also my carpet was wt from antifreeze. I am assuming this is from a bad heatercore correct? Also how do I get it out, I have a few books and one says to remov just the cover the other says to take the hole assembly out. If I take the assemly out does that mean I have to pull everything from the dash out including the metal tubes that are the main support? Also couldnt see where the heater assembl was bolted into the car, maybe I just missed it though. please help in any way
