Ok I need some advice on where to start. I have a 96 Cavalier Z24, my cooling fan just stop working about a week ago. So after driving in traffic for a while my car gets hot and starts to overheat due to my fan not turning on. My coolant starts to slowly leak but cant tell exactly where its coming from, Looks like its coming from the driver side part of the engine. Any suggestions on where to start with the cooling fan?
Check the electrical connector for corrosion, My 96 Z24 had the same problem, didnt realize it till it overheated on the highway and blew a hole in the top radiator hose
The "leak" is probably the overflow tube from it getting to hot
Check the relay in the engine compartment for the cooling fan. You can jump the relay to see if the fan still comes on. This will tell you if the fan is good or not.
