Problems after filling up??
Saturday, October 04, 2008 2:09 PM
Hi guys!!

Each time I go to the gas station and I fill up, the car will hesitate when starting. By hesitate I mean I have to start it like 2-3 times.

I does this only when I put gas in. Anybody has an idea??

Thanks!

make sure the fuel cap is tightened on past three clicks and the rubber seal around it on the cap is still good too. also go to autozone and have your car checked for codes, mine did that and it was the coolant temperature sensor connector.

Sounds a little odd - but make sure you don't overfill the tank. Once the pump clicks off, don't squeeze too much in after that. It may be possible that part of your evap system is drawing in raw fuel rather than vapors, causing a problem - but I wouldn't expect that to happen that quickly. The gas cap thing shouldn't be an issue at that time, since the system doesn't even run that diagnostic unless the tank is between 15 and 85 percent full (not when it's 100, and still shouldn't affect how the car runs. It would only likely set a PO440 code.
Other than the raw fuel thing, I really can't think of much else if it only happens when you fill up.
