What's wrong with my front end?
Tuesday, October 07, 2008 1:04 AM
When I'm sitting a stop sign and turn my wheel fully to either the left or right, prior to accelerating I hear a 'clunk'. Is it my cv joint?
When I proceed and the wheel centers itself, the sound does not return. It only occurs when making quick sharp turns. No other sound is noted.

Is this a major issue?

Sounds like rack & pinon steering bushings, Little circle rubber bushings that go in between the rack & pinon bolts. I will look @ youre cv joints could have a ripped boot, Starting to fail, Motor mounts could be another issue accurring.

Good Luck.
