I need to know what size socket to use on the bolt going through the transmission on a OHV 5speed

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I think they're all 15mm bolts. If they're larger, they'll be one of the usual GM J-body bolt sizes... 18mm or 21mm...
the 15 is just BARELY too big and strips it

try a 9/16 inch snap on or mac wrench/socket not true value or off brand.

Never mind 9/16 is too small. but try a better quality socket or wrench. If the bolt head is slightly worn the better wrench will not slip.
Check your 15mm socket... if it's stretched out, it's no good. Pretty sure I've never seen a 14mm bolt on a J-body...
Have to agree with lenko - 10, 13, 15, 18, and 21MM is all I have really needed.
Perhaps purchase a new 15MM socket?
I got it off, the bolt was stripped so i used a crecent wrench and forced that bicth off.
