i just got all new rear brakes put on my 04 cav yesterday. the car is a manuel transmission now when im on a small hill i can take my foot off the brake and the car doesnt roll back like a it should. if i try to take off from a stop slowly it feels like the e-brake is on a little bit kind of like its dragging i guess. im not really sure how to explain it but if this normal when you get new rear brakes??
is it a drum or dis brake in the rear .if it a drum brake the shoes are adjusted to fare out simple to fix .
ok you can i there take it bake ware you got the work dun or .pull the rear tires off pull the drum off at the bottom of the shoes you will see a star wheel.take a flat head screw driver an tern it in.may take a min to get the drag right side to side shod have slight drag on it withe the tire off .put tire bake on torq to 100 ftp start car pull park brake up revers a couple
feat repeat last.step till you feel that is ware you wont it remember this will mess withe brake pedal feel either harder or softer.cool
Over adjusted brake shoes are not normal when you get new rear brakes.
Either take it back to the shop and have them complete the job right, or get the jack out and adjust them yourself.
Although I feel that if you knew how to do this, you wouldn't be posting this here.
If you jack the car up, and the rear wheels don't spin, that's bad, there should be the slightest amount of drag.
yeah i have no idea how to mess with drum brakes
