I know there was some great tutorial on how to sand and polish the Head on an ecotec, but I can't find it anywhere. I do not want to port the head because I don't want to ruin my car, just polish it up real shiny like. If anyone knows how to do this with some great pics let me know. Thank you!
its easy.
look up how to polish aluminum
yeah but i need to know how to take it off, etc...someone who helped me before on how to clean my engine posted it but i cannot find it.
You mean polish the valve cover?
yeah, the thing where you add oil and it says ecotec.
Why would you want an engine from Poland?
why do you keep asking stupid questions... how about this why do you have more then one account?
oh and also .. thats a valve cover not a head,

My car was made with wrenches, Not chopsticks.

Trust me, read some of this kid's other posts, and you'll soon realize he could ruin his car just by looking at it...
Justin, please don't attempt to remove your valve cover, because that just means some poor sucker from here on the jbo is going to have to come and re-install it for you when you can't figure out how.

Oooh...so THAT'S where the oil goes!! All these years I've just been pouring it all over the engine bay, figured it'll soak into the right spots!!

Search your name. Theres 4 active that have the same name birthdate location and car. Along with the 3 you suspended.
well that is stupid...i am only using this one. those other's can be deleted. i already asked the GM and he said to just change the address and not use them.
just sand it while it's on the engine justin. i normally wouldnt recommend that as an option but in your case i'll make an exception. it won't hurt anything. and you'll do less damage without removing it than you will simply leaving it on.
and remember wetsand. that's sanding, with water.
i thought about doing that but i didnt know if it would ruin anything. would a 80 grit sand paper followed by some rubbing compound do the trick?
800 grit might be a decent starting point depending on how much corrosion you have. Dont get 80 grit near anything on your car.

Paying someone to install parts and bragging about it being fast, is like watching someone bang your wife and being proud to raise their kids.
well, in the tutorial in the link on this page he says to start with 100 to 400. his cover looks exactly like mine, mine might be a little worse though.
