I've been having a problem with my car lately. When I accelerate from a stop during normal driving I can feel a vibration in the gas pedal for a second or so, then the vibration is gone until I stop and start again. Even then it only happens some of the time. It happens often enough that I'd like to figure it out though. I'm thinking maybe mounts, I can't think of what else it would be other than maybe something wrong with the transmission(?).
Cruising and heavy acceleration from a roll to highway speeds is fine, the shifts are fine and I don't feel any vibration in the accelerator. It's just that initial 'go' rev that causes the vibes.
I have a Quad 4 auto.
Below is a video in which I:
-Shift into drive
-Quick brake torque
-Slow brake torque up to 3000rpm
-Shift to reverse
-Slow brake torque up to 3000rpm
Does this look like a normal amount of movement, or should I look into replacing the mounts.
If you think it is the mounts, please note I don't race this thing. So I don't really want to dump $200 into racing mounts and I don't want vibes.

Sounds like a start of trouble shooting. Best thing to do is get a flat head screw driver or pry bar and check upper and lower motor mounts as well. transmission mount as well.
Good Luck.

How much play should I expect to see? I know there should be a little.
When I put the car in neutral and push on the engine it moves about an inch either way.

basically like squeezing a tenis ball. You will see un normal play in the mount that has failed. ones that are stiff are still good.
