04 cavalier clutch pedal/master cylinder
Thursday, April 26, 2012 2:50 PM
Hello all, I recently had to replace the clutch master cyclinder because the little plastic clip which held the pushrod to the pedal broke off...I put in the new one and bled the clutch. The first two drive the cluch was perfect. However, thereafter I could notice the resistance or pressure was higher..the clutch pedal is still smooth but has greater resistance. Is there a way I can lower this resistance? Also, I'm not sure if its a result of this high resistance, but the pedal itself rides high about a half-inch above the brake pedal...is there a way to adjust this as well? I was thinking of placing a washer between the master cylinder and the firewall but maybe there's a mechanism for this vehicle..I don't know..any suggestion from folks familiar with this vehicle..the vehicle is the base model
