Starter Solenoid?

So my 04 Cavalier is making a noise when it starts. I have been told it could be the solenoid, which is about a tenth of the price of the starter, so I would like to start there.

Where in the car is the solenoid located?

The starter solenoid is mounted on the starter itself. Now seriously to replace the solenoid YOU have to remove the starter and at this point(let's see 8yr car) starter is wearing down and buying just the solenoid to replace it is a waste of time!Buy a new reman starter with a warranty and do the job 1 time not 2 when the starter motor will fail eventually.Ok not familar with location of starter on your yr model but it is either front of car or back towards firewall.Just buy a NEW starter and save time, money and have like a one year warranty. My suggestion
