I pulled the engine on my 2002 Cavalier because it was making noise. I found the issue: a bracket was rubbing the axle that goes to the passenger side. That being said, I don't know what the bracket does, what it goes to, what it held at some point. It was down near the lower motor mount. Anyone have any thoughts on what this is?
