Sensor going?? HELP!
Friday, February 25, 2005 6:11 PM
This sucks-I can't get a scanner to figure this out yet....

Trying to figure which is going....

Mass air flow or TPS sensor....

Very rough idle..Power loss....replacing the o2 brought MPG up....still not that great.

In stop and go traffic will throw check engine light...it seems if I go a particular speed
for a while, and I change it ( like say coming off the freeway to the off ramp)..the
light comes on and stays on until I turn off the car. (when I turn it on though, no
engine light)

I'm pretty sure it is one or the other-but I am open to ideas....

3.1 -130k

New exhuast, O2, newer plugs, wires. Coil packs in good shape...

Help!!!

next time the CEL comes on scan the comp. check in a Haynes manual they'll show you a nifty trick with a paper clip to retrieve the codes via blinks from the CEL.

Problem is, the check engine light doesn't come on that often. The car just runs bad.
I"ve been babying it in this nasty winter, so it doesn't break until it warms (or so I hope)

That's why my thinking that it is either throttle or fuel related-fuilds are fine, oil is ok,
and when the car is up to speed, it's fine.. But when I stop...shakeshakeshakeshake..
It sounds computer related, but I'm not sure..
