Anyone know how much gas they hold? My gauge has gone silly on me and I'm trying to figure out exactly where "E" is now...
Thanks

mine is a 16 gallon tank i believe. and mine is a 95, i don't see why the 05s would be too much different.
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
check the owners manual, mines a 14.3 gal tank 2001 Cavalier, I checked the 2003 Cavalier brochure its 11.7 imp gal.
I actually just thought of Googling this and it said about 14.3 so i guess that's correct.
Thanks for the input - I'm gonna check my manual to be sure.

try getting gas a different place. my gas gauge did the same thing. i got gas at this same place since i moved and i never had a problem, then one day my gauge started to act all funny. i thought i needed to replace the fuel sensor in the tank, so i went out and filled up since i knew i needed it (went to a different place) and now i never had that problem again
from filling up after running on fumes i got around 12 gallons on my 03 if i remember correctly

happy happy joy joy
They range from 14.1-15.2 gallons.

WTF
Everytime I fill up, and this is usally when the check guages light is on and the needle is well below the empty mark, it only takes 13.5G

Well when the "Check Gauges" light comes on, you have approximately 1 gallon left.
So if you fill up your tank soon after the light comes on, you probably have a little less than a gallon of gas left in the tank.
So when your car takes 13.5 gallons at the pump, and you factor in that extra gallon (or a little less), it comes out to about 14.3 Gal.
My CarDomain Page
Should be just over 14 gal, give or take a bit. I have never put more than 13.8gal in ever. My fuel guage hasn't worked for over 2 years now. I drive purely by miles now. Once I hit 350 miles, it is time to fill up.
All I can say is when the "check gauges" light comes on get some gas, my gauge was reading 1/8 of a tank, and I ran out of gas on the fwy, so I would not trust it.
But back on topic, mine holds about 14 gallons, and I get about 400 miles out of it with varied driving, and 470, all hwy.
I looked on Alldata at work the other day and it said my 2004 Cavalier holds 14.1 gallons of fuel.
Mine is surely 12.3 because we drained the tank and filled it (don't ask but there was a valid reason) and it was only 12.3 gallons from empty to full.
