my 99 cavalier 2.4 makesa bad knocking sound and a friend told me it could be the timing chain smaking the metal and i wanted to know if it is something serious that i should rush to get fixed. i also noticed that my engine moves around alot when reved up, do i need front engine mounts, if so where can i get them?
try toqureing the bolt down in motor mounts to spec first. as for the knock i dont rememder a timing chain on my 99 i think it was a timing belt

your noise could be anything , its best to get a good mechanic to look at it
