I run mobil1 in my car and still change it ever 3k. The oil may hold up longer than that but your still getting all the dirt in the oil still.

If you've switched to synthetic, don't bother with the Quaker State "Q" or any of that other garbage. For a few extra its more than worth it to switch to Mobil 1. The piece of mind knowing you have the best motor oil on the market in your vehicle is more than worth the $20 price

I've been using Mobil 1 SuperSyn ever since my last oil change, and I'm planning on going between 4K-5K miles on it. The owners manual suggests 3K for hard driving (city) and 5K for light (highway) driving, with the difference being how quickly the oil breaks down under heat and hard use. Of course thats figuring conventional (cheap) motor oil, so I figure I'll change it at 4-5K being that I use Synthetic and do a a mix of city/highway driving.

Well the oil itself can conceivably go for 7k miles. There's been a couple online studies that do that. But the dirt still accumulates at the same rate it did with conventional oil.

I use Mobil 1EP. I change at 10k but can go to 15k if the oil looks good.
