im thinkin my car is severly broken or something. accidently turning my key ahead to put my windows down when i accidently put it forward to much and my car turned on and ran like a dream....now this sounds normal right....keep in mind that my car is a standard..and i went nowhere near my clutch...anyone know if this is normal or broken or what...the car was in neutral if that means anything and there was a weird burning smell when i turned it off..not quite the smell of a burnt clutch, but something...now i know my clutch is getting bad, wpuld that make it start like that though...help!

sounds to me that you simply need to replace or reconnect your neutral saftey switch. Witht he clutch bad it wont start cause it sitll needs the switch engaged. When my clutch went bad i could put it in 5th and left the clutch out and it would stay running and move...

so where would this happy little switch be...there is a chirping coming from it that goes away when i push in the clutch and i can feel it moving sometimes under my foot. and another weird noise coming from it too

It would be under the dash, up against the firewall. When you press the clutch to the floor, there is a switch about 1.5" long that will get pressed in by the clutch lever.
