Changed plugs and boots had a lil trouble getting the valve cover back on after changing the plugs i put the boots on the actual plugs and just tried to line up the cover best i could it seems to be running fine but if i didnt line it up right would there be a noticable diffrence like a knocking or something or would it just seem to run the same with less power?

Wait,

Are u telling me that you changed your spark plugs and wires and removed your vavle cover? Why? No need to remove that part when changing the plugs and wires!

Well if the valve cover wasnt alligned right, you would have a problem, Oil will leak out.

Turn the gasket around, or the valve cover in its entirerty, Now try it.

If he's got a 2.4 like what his profile says then yes he has to remove the cam cover(whatever you wanna call it) in order to get to the plugs and plug boots....

Usually when I go to put the cover back on I just put the boots on the white coil housing and then just drop the cover right onto the plugs....Works everytime!

Do what Jacob said the next time and remove the bolt that holds the fuel line out of the way. It will align way more easily when you put it back together.

To answer your question if it wasn't aligned right you would probably get a misfire. The spring in the boots wouldn't be making contact between the coil and plug.
