2000 Sunfire, just bought OBDII code reader off eBay, wondering where the port is located?

On the left of the drivers side footwell.

Get down eye level with the bottom of the dash on the driver's side and you'll see it

Damn I'm lazy. I posted that before I even bothered to look. It's right there in plain sight. Thanks anyways, guys. Now I need to know what a 0440 means. The book said something about Emission Control Malfunction or something like that, but I wanna know what part I need.

That could be a gas gap, or something else preventing the system from pressurizing.

probably a loose or defective gas cap, like ratzero said.......it happend to me....stupid gas station attendant left it loose and the cel came on


who woudl think of checking the gas cap for a CHECK ENGINE light........a gas cap is pretty damn far from an engine
