Problem After Strut Replacement

well, it seems that not many ppl read the Suspension forum so i will try here because i really need to fix this today.

i recently bought a set of KYB GR-2's for my '01 Z24. i replaced the rears first on monday and all went fairly well. i didnt get a chance to replace the fronts until wednesday. i had a little bit of trouble overall, but everything ended up right. or so i thought.

today i was driving to my parents house to replace my front wheel bearings and i started to hear a creaking noise somewhere in the front. i really couldnt pinpoint it. while replacing the wheel bearings i checked out the struts, springs and mounts and everything looked good.nothing was loose.

once i was done with the wheel bearing installs, i went for a test run around the neighborhood. it seemed that the creaking had worsened. i still was unable to pinpoint the where the noise came from, but i was certain it was from the front. i tightend the strut mount nuts and bolt thinking they might still be loose but that didnt help at all.

i gave up because i had to go to work and headed home. once i got to my complex, i went over some speed bumps and heard the noise coming from the passenger side only. i went over the bumps with only the drivers side and then only the passenger side and there was no noise from the drivers side.

tomorrow im going to re-check everything on the passenger side, but i wanted to get some input and ideas on what else i should check, and what the noise could be coming from. after that im going to get an alingment done because i need it anyway and see if that helps. thank you all.

Peace Out!!!

The strut mount has probably gone bad. Did you install the coil the same way that it came out? Maybe the coil is binding but I would probably put my momney on a bad strut mount.

sorry, i should have followed up on this thread. the strut rod nut was not tight enough. i tightened it more and the noise was gone.

Peace Out!!!
