K this is kinda weird. I recently bought a 2000 2.2 cavalier. from a kid in town....to get to the point. the whne i opened up the trunk i found that the wiring for all the lights was totally jumbled. he even had wires running from his front turn signals all the way to the rear turn signals(under the carpet) needless to say the wiring was all jacked up. so i plugged everything back up the way its supposed to be and replaced all the bulbs and fuses. now the lights come on. but when the brakes are depressed the brake filaments dont light up, the third brake light wont come on...moreover the turn signals, both front and back, turn on with the lights, but then dont flash when the turn signal is engaged. even the turn signal indicator on the guage cluster doesnt indicate that the signal should be on. help!!!!
Wild guess but just try running a separate earth wire from a good earth in the trunk,
temporarily connect it to the earth wire/point on the lights/each light and see if they work ?
It seems, without knowing more, that you have lost at least one earth connection
post the results you get!
