Where can I find an oil pressure sender to fit my 2002 Cavalier 2200? The sender that came with my oil pressure gauge does not have the same tread as the "plug" I removed. Thanks for your help.
I would recommend going to the parts store and making a T connection between your original sending unit and the one that came with your gauge. Napa had a whole bunch of brass connectors for cheap. I did this on my 2.4 and it worked out great....after a few trips back to the parts store for more connectors. You will want to use teflon tape around the threads but dont get them in the holow parts of the connectors because they could lead to an oil blockage. You will want both sending units hooked up because the factory sending unit will light up the OIL light on your dash board when the pressure gets too low. You wont always be watching your oil pressure gauge to know if the pressure is dangerously low. This way you will have the best of both worlds, a working oil pressure gauge and an idiot light in case the pressure drops. Someone may be able to provide some pics for you.
I also am pretty sure that sending units are specific to the type of gauge. So if you bought an Autometer gauge, you need the Autometer sending unit for it to work properly.

I am not exactly sure that I understand what you're saying. I refered to an earlier post about installing an oil pressure gauge, which I can't find right now. There was a small "plug" above the oil filter which I removed with a 1/4 inch rachet. The previous post I had read said that it is possible to just screw the sensor into the place where this so called "plug" was. I removed the plug and compaired it to the thread on the sensor unit and they are completely different. So I am not sure where to go from here. If I get a T connecter like you stated, wouldn't I will have the same problem with the thread on the sender not working? Thanks for the help and sorry for my confusion.
Hi David
I think what scrawnyguy18 means is take the "plug" you removed from the block to an autoparts store and you will be able to buy an adaptor to match, at one end
the plug
and at the other end
the sender that came with your pressure gauge.
If you did as he suggested with the TEE you would read oil pressure AND have the idiot light to really get your attention.
