Not sure if this is the right forum, but I have a question about when I tap the gas after start up. Some times not all the time, when I press the gas a little bit to pull out of the parking space, it acts like it wants to die (or does die)? It hesitates, then goes if it doesn't die. I have a 2002 Cavalier with 58,000. Just replaced the fuel filter, so I ruled that one out. It doesn't necessarily happen all the time, but every now and then. Any ideas or suggestions are appreciated.
On a side note, do they make a copper valve cover seal?
Thanks,
Josh
Well SgtCMofo
You have 2002 Cavalier with 58,000 miles on it? auto or 5spd?
Have you recently done a tune up plugs / wires / New air filter. Has youre throttle body been cleaned out? idle air control motor may need to be cleaned out as well. That part usually causes the motor to drop in idle. Or you could have a vaccum leak somewhere.

It's an automatic. I have replaced the plugs and wires about 6,000 miles ago. and I have a K&N Air filter. I guess I'll check the filter, then look at the throttle body to clean it out..
Thanks,
Josh
ok maybe you need to replace youre intake air temperature sensor on youre throttle body rubber boot, It could be fouled up. Or even get a pressure test done on youre fuel pump as well.
could also be the throttle position sensor. I have had this issue before.
