ok got a strange one for you guys, my sister has a 99 cavalier 2.2l wit 150000 km on it. when you step on the brake you feel and hear a clunking untill the car stops. there new pads on it and it only does this under noromal braking not hard braking. no problem when in reverse at any speed.
any ideas guys i want to have a good idea what it is if i have to take it to the shop or if i can do it myself
any suggestions would be great
thanks
Sounds like to me their is some kind of movement or looseness in the pads or calipers, I would get some high heat temperature silicone, Drop a few good globs on the outter flat plates of each front brake pads, (not on the pad side where the rotors meet ). Then make sure youre bolts are tight on the calipers. Most cases they become loose then their is movement in the front brakes. In which can be dangerous. If it still occures, Then I would look into getting both front rotors replaced, They could be warped from overheated braking.
Good Luck
Keep us updated.
k i replaced the pads and rotors again today ( got warrienty on the pads) still the same thing i drove it approx 200 km today after the brake job. i think i could be a prob with the brake booster... i know thats not what its really called dont know the real name
any ideas
When was the last time you changed the fluid?

my car is a girl because I describe her as sexy, beautiful, hot. I look at her curves, and I caress her body once a week with various soaps and sponges. Also, I get in and out of her every day.
