In the owners manual for my 1998 Cavalier 2.4L 5-spd, it says the oil level I should fill to is 4 quarts... does this level also account for the transmission, or is the transmission fill seperate? The manual isn't very specific with that, and I don't wanna ignore my tranny.

On the 1998 Z24, the transmission is 5 years or 100,000 miles. Just can't go by the mileage. I had mine done in 2003 with a little over 55,000 miles.

it probably was serviced last time it was in the shop then. I didn't drive it then, and I didn't take it to the shop, so I have no clue. All I know is that it feels to me like the tranny needs to be serviced.
