My friend has a 97 Z. Since hes got the car about a year and half ago hes been through 3rd sets of wheel bearings and about to be on his 4th. I know this isn't normal for wheel bearings to go this fast. So there something else could be causing the wheel bearings to go so fast? Maybe bad CV joints or shafts? I'm taking guesses right now but he wants to sell his car unless the problem with the wheel bearings isn't solved!!!
Help please!
I've had that problem with the Timken bearings (probably went though 6 in a year for both my fronts).
I went to Discount Auto and bought the ones with a 2 year warranty and they haven't given me any problems yet.
Make sure he is torquing the axle nut down to 185 ft lbs.
