Do you think that changing my air filter when going for an oil change is a good idea ? I mean, the air filter is not very expensive...(about 7$CAN)

You don't need to do it every time. If your using a regular stock paper filter, check it every 12k to 15k. Your other option is to get a K&N replacement and not have to worry about it for 50k miles or so. Then you just take it out, clean it, and reoil it.

I change my air filter every 30,000 miles. Grandparents have an 03 Intrepid at 50k with the original filter, thing is it doesnt even look bad, hardly any black on it at all.
