Well i had just finished painting my valve cover ceramic silver. Reinstalled it with a new gasket. Hand tightened all bolts, then torqued to spec. Ran the car for 5 mins. Heard a rattling noise. turned car off, and retorque loose bolts.
This is what happened:
Im trying to use red Hightemp silcone to seal so i can get to and from work, and to a auto part store.
How much does a new 2200 Valve cover cost?
Any other suggestions?

Look like you may need a new one. Damn shame too it looks so good. Hey call around you may be able to get it welded. Not sure if J.B. WELD would work or not but you may want to at least try it and see. Of course your not gonna wanna tighten that bolt down TOO much again. Or just stud the bolt holes use J.B. WELD and a washer with a nut on top of it. That may be the easiest fix other then replaceing it.
Good Luck.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
get a new one from a junkyard, 5$

screw that piece back on and drive it. won't hurt if its for a few days,i did thattoo, i think its because of cheap torqure wrenchs that do not like to work on such small torqure, at least mine was. no junkyard around here had one, so i bought a new from from gm, 48 bucks i think, but camwith a new gasket, which i needed anyway, so only like 38 bucks in my case.
just seal it with RTV black gasket maker if u only need a temp seal.
