Turn signal problem
Sunday, September 04, 2005 11:23 PM
Hi ppl,

The last night noticed at the cluster that the left signal arrow (when I activate it of course) was flashing quickly than normal... took a look at the head signal lamps and were flashing at the same speed (quickly)... and the tail ones were not flashing... do anyone know what's going on? TIA

btw the right signals are working fine

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. But if your right signals are fine, your front left flashes quickly, and your rear left doesnt flash at all, then you just need to replace the rear left bulb. Its a saftey feature to let you know that you have a turn signal not working.

I will correct you. Its not a safety feature, its because the current is going to the working bulb making it blink x2 than normally.

But you are correct he does just need a new bulb.

yeah, the relay needs a certain amount of resistance to blink at a set rate, if one bulb is out, there is less resistance, therefore it will blink faster.......or something along those lines

There is a recall on my car for a similar problem. The way to fix it take some dilectric grease like for spark plug boots, and coat the socket, and install a new set of bulbs.
While you have it apart, do both sides.

Which brand is better? "BlinkTilBlind" is the only one available around here... Is it fine? Abt the hoses, made a check all the dawn and everything seems fine... I'm thinking seriously to rent a scanner to check those...

make sure you bleed the system when you change it

btw, a technician told me to use the eco-fluid that comes in green... and it's better cuz my car is green... does it make sense?... it's the most expensive, but it's lead-free and will help to protect the planet including the ozone layer!

btw is there any cap or system to bleed the fluid? is the liquid harmful?
