I am having a problem with what appears to be the cruise control on my car. I have a 2002 Cavalier VL, auto, 2.2 OHV with 140K. When driving along with cruise on, it tends to cut out once in a while and the car will start to decelerate. Sometimes the cruise will resume on its own and other times it just shuts off. It is very intermittent. Any ideas on what the problem might be?

don't know if this is your problem, but in my beater (not a J) it does the same thing. for me it's a loose connection in the controls itself.
