Missing at idle.
Friday, September 09, 2005 7:09 AM
My 2000 2.2 has missed a little at idle since I got it 2 years ago. The car will jiggle a little every couple seconds at idle and the tach will drop a tiny bit. I replaced the wires, no real effect. Coil paks?

Thanks!

Mine does that, and mine's a knock sensor problem.

Well esanford, First of all do you have an engine light on? If so, you will need to get the codes scanned first. If not codes, I would get some carb cleaner and ry cleaning out youre throttle body, Alot of times dirty and grime cause throttle body to work properly. If still have things running the same I would get a pressure test done on the fuel pump as well. Its things check out fine there, Then look into getting the ohm meter test done on the coil packs.

Good Luck with youre findings.

My 2200 has the same problem. Its been happening for a few months now too, driving me nuts. Changed the plugs, fuel filter, used the sea foam and the gm ceaner stuff, scrubbed the back of the throttle plate, checked vaccum lines, lots of injector cleaner and no codes.

I'll get the pressure test on the fuel pump done. Also a gm mechanic told me to try unbolting the cat or to get the injectors professionally cleaned.

Fuel filter? That's the only thing not on the list in this post, I figured I'd throw it out there.

Mine does it to. I think it's just a common issue with these. I also noticed on mine if I'm coasting to a stop it will drop to around 500 rpm and bounce back up to 2000rpm but I can drop it into neutral or take it out of OD and put it into d and it's fine. maybe the iac or the TPS is acting up. no codes though.
