how much would a new key be to make? i lost my key and need to make another one. how would i get one do i have to go to a chevy dealership or somthing? help me out here thanks...

you would get your VIN number, and call the dealership, but I'm thinking you'd have to do it in person, and have your ownership with you, so that not just anyone can grab your VIN number and make a key.
Do you need to just make a copy of a spare or what? If so, if it doesn't have the "I" in the middle of the key like mine does on my 92, then just take it to a small hardware shop and let them make a copy.
It sucks going to the dealership for them. Fricken 30$ just for a spare for my Camaro.

I got my new dealer key for approx $8 and change. Had to bring license and registration in with me and had to do it in person.

I hear that, we had to have 2 keys made for our cammy.....danged security key, but anyways. You can get one from the dealership for the Cav pretty cheap, but you have to be there in person and show proof that you own the car.
It's a four banger, you gotta bang it four times to get it goin'....
