just a question.....

my 03 cavy is an auto . what would be the best parts to get for off the line acceleration. i was thinking mounts, pulley, and shiftplus or intercepter. if ne thing else please let me know (besides a 5spd swap, no money for swap and no downtime needed really). thanks in advance.

You can pretty much do the same things as if you had an manual 5 speed and it will improve your acceleration greatly. Take it from me, I've done pretty much every bolt on in the book and even motor work and my take off is dope. Your ONLY problem you will experience is that you will notice your modifications will not equal up to a person if they had the same mods on a 5 speed because your transmission is losing alot of power before it goes to the wheels.

In order to fix this, I would say after you do your bolt ons, invest into a bigger torque converter. Find a transmission place (I have a couple in mind...websites at home) that make custom torque converters. What you do is tell them what you have and what you are seriously planning on doing in the future and they will build one specifically for your application.

The hard part is getting someone to install it because in order to install it you have to take the whole transmission off which is a long process for a mechanic. I did some calling around and research already and in order for myself to do this with the part and labor it was going to cost me from $900-1000, so save up your cash buddy. Good Luck.

Actually no it isn't. You figure you have to get all the parts (tranny, plates, clutch, flywheel) and you have to also get a computer to work for a manual transmission because with an auto, the computer tells it when to shift. It's alot of headache AND will be a ton of dough for someone to do it.

He's better off doing this and he might actually be faster than a manual if the specs are right.

To quote myself, I have a website for a company in California that will make the torque converter for you to your specs. Since I'm home now, here is the website:

Hopefully this will help you out some...
