New toy for Nitro!!!!!!

Well, I usually don't impulse buy, and in a way, this wasn't really that much of an impuse persay......

I've been seriously thinking about biting the bullet and getting a header for the Z24, but I'm such a cheap bastard that I didn't want to shell out the dough. Recently, I've persuaded myself to at least spring for a cheap pacesetter, non coated to let out all the gas from the 100 shot. I know that a header will be like uncorking Niagra Falls with the size shot I run, so it made sense that I'd still be getting good bang for the buck. But I'm glad I decided to check Ebay first. For the same price I was quoted for a non-coated pacesetter header, I found a stainless steel OBX header! I just had to buy. The seller had 99.5% excellent feedback, and when I scrolled down the list, the only bad ones were all misspelled, or otherwise looked basically like some retard misunderstood and got all pissy. When you have over 3000 feedback ratings, I guess your bound to have some knuckleheads in the bunch, so it all looks good to me. So I pressed the good 'ol "buy it now" button, and picked it up for $155, plus $32 shipping. Now I can look forward to making my goal of 12.9 for this year! Can't wait to give you all the new dyno numbers!

Sweet. Yes this will open your car up a lot!! Are you going to go back to the dyno and see what happens?? This would be a good test for the header, before and after.

I'm under the impression that it's just the 4 into 1 header. For the price I got it for, I'm happy either way. The part # is H10366 . Anybody know which one that is?

Yes, it came in today!!!!!!! I'm pleased with the quality of the welds and all, only found 2 spots that I'm gonna go over to make it better. But I'm anal like that. And I'm very picky about the way TIG welds should look. Besides, I've got to weld tabs on it to mount the factory heat shield to.

Same guy I bought from.

Make absolute sure you port match the header to the STOCK gasket. Don't use the crappy one that comes with the header...it blows out after a couple months. If you put the stock gasket up against the header with the bolt holes aligned, you will see that one of the ports was not welded to the proper spot on the manifold flange. Use a die grinder to match it up.

You won't see it after I install it anyway, unless you look up from the bottom.

And Mr. Pute, I thought I typed in thanks for the tip under your quote in my last post. But I guess I didn't. So thanks!

No prob dude. I find it weird that OBX never corrected such a horrible problem. The port is literally off a good 1/4 inch from where it should really be.

I've seen it on all 4 OBX 2.4 headers I've seen/had in my posession.

Congratulations Nitro.

Friend can you clarify me two doubts:
1.- what size is the collector of this header, 2.25" or 2.5"?
2.- are the primaries 1.5"?

And Mr. Pute excelent advice. For the price could be the best bang for the buck I have heard.

Regards,

The collector is 2.5 inch, but it gets reduced in the ball flange to the 2.25" down pipe (I think, I'll measure later to be sure). Not sure about the primaries, but they look like somewhere around 1.5" to me. I'll check that as well, but I've worked with pipe and tubing so long, that I'm probably dead on without measuring it. We'll see.
