that's technically a 4-2-1 header. but where are the necessary bends? it looks to be almost a completely straight piece once all assembled.
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
Looks homemade. Doesnt look like they took the necessary bends to fully benefit a 4-2-1 design either. I wouldn't buy it.

nice set up but way too expensive, he will tryto justify the price but you can buy a high flo cat for like 40 bucks flex pipe is pretty cheap and then buy like an rk 4-2-1 header and you are still cheaper. nice thing about that set is install is pretty much a snap.
M.I.L.F. HUNTER Its quarter past 12:00 know where your mom is................................I do
Looks like a 4-2-1. Do the instructions mention cutting the fire wall out

. Look here for pics of the rk 4-2-1 header

but def. not worth the 680, he wont do group purchases or run any sales over priced

4-2-1 is a tri Y design , if you count the Y-sections there is 3 of them
and you gotta love those dumb arses giving you a bracket and the 03-05 J's do not have the hangers on the sub-frame , LOL
not that they worked to suppoirt anythin gon the eco or the 2.4
680?!?!

He should come to your house and install it for that. Did anyone dyno with that thing on too? what kinda gains?
Rich
i have that header. my 96 didnt have the brackets for the down pipe hangers so i just welded some one.
4 years and trouble free.
i have the one for the ecotec. got it second hand for $300

. fitment was good, it went in really easy. but i did have to get the motor mounts to keep the thing from hitting the crossmember whil under load. since then it has been good for me. i acktually saw an increas in gas milage until i put my exhaust on, then it went back to the way it was, maybe a tad less.
Michael Groves - I noticed you have the Iperformance exhaust too, how's the performance with both of them?
way overpriced

no complaints about mine!! Yes $680 was a lot but you get what you pay for. My father in law has built engines in the past and has been putting parts on my car while I've been overseas and he said it was very good craftsmanship
Its even got a warrenty........ Right Jake?
I like the design, and the craftsmanship....... just a little to rich for my blood.

I have the i-Performance header for my 2.4L.. it's a very nice piece of work.... hard to compare to anything else out there... worth the price? probably not. but you gotta pay to play...
There are dyno sheets on the i-performance site.. <www.i-performance.biz>

yeah they have "A" dyno test , from a car that had alot of parts on it , not sure if the motor was built when the dyno test was done or not , but he had the grd intake on it , as well as other mods
ya . Bill has been nice to me over the years.

When they compared the RKSport exhaust to theirs, the car they used was stock besides a MUFFLER on the stock piping, at least thats what they said on their website:
"We were lucky enough to find a volunteer locally, Lenny Kean of Wentzville, Missouri, who graciously donated the use of his 2001 Chevrolet Cavalier Z24 car for the testing. Lenny's car is basically stock, the only modifications being a fiberglass hood, Eibach lowering springs, and a polished stainless steel straight through type muffler spliced onto the stock piping..."
Here's the link aswell:

Unless you are talking about a different dyno test. Otherwise, my bad.
OH! i never noticed that that test car had a straight through muffler

I need to do my exhaust right now. i have the muffler and the pipe just need to order the bends

order will be placed tomorrow
see ya!
Just remember every engine is different and any test is going to have some variance because no 2 cars are built the same so to make a claim based on one car is absurd and this test was done on a 2.4 very much different than an ecotec motor

Yeah I figured that, I'm not saying the power will be the same, all I really wanted to know in this thread was whether or not it was a 4-1 or a 4-2-1 design,, and then everyone else slowly changed the topic. To those that helped, I thank you.
Yeah you get what you pay for but you'll only get so much power from a header. $680 is ridiculous. You can get a header and still have $300 or so left over to get a full custom exhaust setup (if you didn't have one). Also, I believe he made claims of higher #s than other places which were kind of off also. If you want 4-2-1ECO header, check out weapon-r's products. Go to
www.definedparts.com for prices.

i know that my car is being held back because of the cat back. i need some more power for autocross.
see ya!
It's expensive but its completely bolt-on, you don't need to buy a cat, weld, or anything like that. Certainly its a header, but its also the cat and flex pipe, it's also 2.5 inches in diameter. Pacesetter, RKS, OBX, don't make headers that terminate in 2.5 inch piping.
i-performance claims their dyno was performed on a stock car, if it wasn't, I'd be upset if I did all that work for so little power gained. the stock exhaust put out stock numbers
sure it's only a header, and you can only expect so much from a header, but that view is short sighted, and dosn't look at the big picture. an engine is a system, and is only as strong as it's weakest link, you use combinations of parts to make an engine
and utilizing bends for a header? you want it to be free flowing; bends are bad for flow
I see the only people complaining about this product are ones who don't own it
looks as if they tested another car , cause im only aware of the 1 car that was tested
but then , i have not been to their site , cause bill ruined any chance of me buying their products , with all the emails he sent me as well as the others out there , anytime a discussion about their product came up , it was very anoying
i had wanted to get their stuff before that point
also there have been people here that had trouble with trying to get warrenty from them
