i got my tach adapter and it only went to 2500rpm when i hooked it up and red lined the motor. went and purchased a new tach and it did the same thing. any suggestions???

I think hes trying to put in an after market tach and it isn't reading correctly. I didn't think a tach adapter was necessary unless you didn't have one to begin with.

Start by doing this.....

Look under the hood at your 'under hood fuse center'......... Check to see if you have the 'tac' pin...... (says TAC next to it) If you have it, make sure there is a connector in the hole..... If that doesn't work, Go to your computer, and splice into the wire located at PIN 10 on the BLACK connector...... attach that to the TAC input lead on the TAC...... see if that works for you.
