Does anyone know where I can get some info on this engine, a guy at work said something about his 1995 Cavi original engine having 200+ thousand miles on it, He gave me the VIN, I decoded it, the engine code is 4 which is a 2.2 LN2 engine, I did a quick search and discovered that it is a Vortec engine. Can anyone confirm this?
Vortech Cavy engine?
Didn't know there was a 4 banger Vortech engine.

bull@!#$ lol.
i have an LN2 in my car and there's nothing vortech about it. straight up low compression pushrod GM 4 cylinder dude. now, if you take care of them, they last a long long time. hell I've got almost 160k on mine and it's "heavily" modded (heavily modded in this case being everything i can do to it without boost or nitrous)
I was a retard, and now I'm permanently banned.
yup they last for a long time , I'd like to get me a 2.2 for winter

1989 Turbo Trans Am #82, 2007 Cobalt SS G85
in the S10's they considered them part of the vortec family by name assoiation
i know when i worked for chevy , we used to get monthly or bi-monthly report magazines , and i remember someone sending in about his cavalier having over 400,000 miles and still going strong
the engine in the trucks has a little more torque and is 90 degree mounted im guessing a little more power due to not having as strict emission requirements with trucks

so I'm gathering that the engine they put in the S-10 (LN2) and the Cavi are the same, they just call it VORTEC in the S-10 because the rest of the trucks have vortex?
My cavy Has 165+ thousand miles! My truck has 20 thousand less and it's one year newer. They both have the original motors.
