2200 and Ecotec

whats the diff.? like I know its a 2.2 vs 2.4 but what else?
beter wires what? plz dont flame or hate I just dont know so this is how
I learn so if some one could tell me that would help

2200:

2.2L Displacement
Single Cam
2 Overhead valves per cylinder
Pushrod design (old)
Cast iron block


Ecotec:

2.2L Displacement (not 2.4L)
Dual overhead cams
4 valves per cylinder
Cam-on-lifter-on-valve design
Aluminum block

2200's ignition uses plug wires between the plugs and coils, ecotec and twin cam has coils intergrated into the direct ignition cover, uses no spark plug wires.

intake w/ heat shield, relocated IAT sensor, 180 degree T-stat, blue reverse glow gauges...
and a bucket full of HP robbing KR!

from what i understand since the eco's ignition goes straight down into the plugs, doesnt that help prevent electrical arcing the electricity to make it run more efficiently then plug wires? ... just asking
