I'm thinking of making my own custom intake for my 2.4, has anyone been succesful in doing this?
being that jbo has been around since 1999, and its been 6 years.... yea i would say that there are many who have fabbed intakes for all engines ever found in these cars...

I'm talking about just buying stuff from the auto store and just piecing one together instead of paying 150$ for a complete one.
shouldn't be that hard. you'll probably want 3" tubing, and some mandrel bends. go with something less than a 6" radius if you can, then its just a matter of welding it together and buying some rubber connectors.

people have done it... but personally, I think its a waste of time and energy unless you have HO manifold. Ebay is a good source of intakes, just replace the airfilter with a real k&n unit.
