or should i throw in a 06 cobolt ss engine tranny and comp and then what kind of tuning can i do on that and if any guys have put in a 06 ss 2.0 out of a cobolt did you have a big issues with engine geometry or was it pretty straight forward
doesnt really matter what engine you chose, if you have knowledge about it, you can make it powerful...
start searching around for all the engine posts, alot of info has been posted in the last 3 months alone on what who did what and how much etc.

Event is so correct
What people fail to realize is a motor swap is not cheap and not easy. You first of all have to pretty much find a donor car and take EVERYTHING out of that engine bay and install it into yours. You also need the transmission because your 2.2 OHV tranny will not fit onto an 2.4 or ECO motor. So now your talking about money to either buy a car or buy all the parts from a Salvage yard.
Now you have to take everything out of your engine bay, put everything from the donor car into yours, wire everything up (which is a ton of work) and hope it starts up with no issues.
Your talking about alot of money to get an donor car or the donor cars parts and alot of money to pay someone to install it for you. For this amount of money, it's not worth gaining 30 or so HP when you can have way more power with a turbo setup and properly tuned.
Believe it or not, your 2.2 OHV has potential but you just need to the knowledge to bring that potential out.

build up the 2200
join the ranks of the true elite
any of the engines can be fast, but each has its own requirements to get there.
the twin cam engines are easier to make quick with bolt ons, the OHV requires a little more research and work, but don't let anyone tell you they can't be as fast as the 2.4 or the eco cuz its not true.. the ohv DOES yield results when the proper areas are adressed... namely headwork and valvetrain.
its really up to you which one you wanna work with... you already have the 2.2 in the car... thats what made me decide to build up the 2200... cuz I already have it
