I have some tranny mounts to put into my 95 sunfire and i was wondering how hard are they to change if the tranny is in the car and also if its worth it. will i see any real gain or recovery? Is there any pointers to make it easyier on me? anything would be awsome..phil
Just my Opinion......save up and have a reason to have them put in......aluminum flywheel and clutch replacement!
From what I was told by my mechanic you probably don't want to do it yourself.
Mine were basically fused into place and he had to take a torch or something to them and beat the crap out of them to get them out.....said the poly replacement was a pain to get in also....guess we should have found the tranny mounts years earlier...haha
As for gain.....it's basically the same thing the poly motor mounts and insert do for you.
Better response.....but lots of vibrations.
She can almost rock me to sleep......if weren't for those loud mufflers!

personally i had NO problem putting them in..the old mount came out pretty easy and the poly one went in..well..as expected lol ....as far as getting the actually solid mount off the tranny thats the hard part...just takes alittle time but as he said..does the same thing as the engine mounts..just alittle more i liked mine ok though

to get them out u bend the 4 tabs and push it out. really not that tough to remove the stock ones.
