what pre-build catback exhaust system is the best for the 2.4L specifically? i found a lot on gravana and some other sites,. and im wondering who has been happy with what?
i talked to the guy at the muffler shop and he said that 2.5 inch piping would be too big for a N/A motor. im going SC next year, but for now im staying N/A. Will i really lose power with 2.50 inch pipes?
also, does anyone know how good the monza pacesetter set sounds? and how big the resonator is on that? ive heard it rusts easily.
anyways, what catback system have you guys been happy with? what muffler and what size resonator combo do you think works best?
get those opinions in!
(and i started this thread mostly as a reference for all of us here on j-bod that need occasional help on exhausts)
thanks guys!

borla is great but the shop i am going to doesnt have it. i like magnaflow too, and i like the sound the magnaflows make.
i still havent found out about that 2.25 or 2.5 inch piping though.

sounds can be altered.....
there isnt a best like said.
sounds can be altered.....
pick the brand you want the stickers from, take it to a shop, have em weld it on witha resonator, and be happy
either wait until you actually supercharge it, cause so many people say they are gonna do this and that and never do it...
or if you are 100% sure get the larger size.... but if you cant say you are 100% sure...wait.
but will i actually LOSE power with 2.5 inch piping on a 2.4L? or will it stay the same? or increase?

Like it has been said really is not a best. I have a custom 2.50" exhaust from my header back. A local shop did it for me. I would recommend finding a muffler you want and have the local shop do your piping. TO get a pre bent echaust is going to cost, and the gains are very small. I had a RKSport mandrel bent piping from my cat back at one point, dumped that for custom piping. 2.50" is not too big for a n/a car. Keep in mind if you do not have enough supporting mods you might lose some power. I just looked at your mods, you would probably lose some power. I would go with the 2.25" exhaust. You can always upgrade after you have the charger.
i agree with john..... but you wont lose power persay.... it will just shift your power band... where you might make same/more hp but at a different point in your power band. i noticed nothing but gains from my 2.5" exhaust.
