Yesterday I FINALLY got my exhaust welded up and finished on my 04 Eco.

Pacesetter ceramic coated header
2 1/4in piping all the way back.
Magnaflow HI-Flow Cat
Borl Pro-XS Straight through muffler.
No resonater at this time... :-(

Above 5 thousand rpm's it really seems to scream. But I haven't had a good chance to test it out. Just a little spirited driving yesterday.

With my CAI, Ported Throttle Body, Port matched Intake Manifold, lightweight crank pulley, and Lower Motor Mount on the other side of the engine...it really feels like this free-er flowing exhaust helped alot.

I will be going to the track asap. But I won't expect any great number untils the weather cools off. Cuz the track I run at seems a bit slow compared to others.

Comments and opinions welcome.

Also looking for some new idea's for what else to do to the car. (be gentle tho, this is my daily driver)

At WOT it is a little too loud. and it is a little raspy. so I might put in a small resonator.

i have almost the same setup with a res only when its a bit cold is it raspy

i am putting almost the same setup on my 2.4L on wednesday, just did a few things different

4-2-1 rksport header
magnaflow hi flow cat
dynomax resonator
borla pro-xs muffler straight thru muffler
2 1/4" piping all the way

excellent. might want a resonator. then again, i like the buzzing sometimes. It was so much worse when i was running with my full 2.5" header back test pipe setup. But yea. Keep an eye on those exhaust bolts as well. They like to rattle themselves loose occasionally.

borla muffler

except i kept my 2" piping on for now....i needed a few extra books for college books.


how long does it usually take for the eco to accomodate the mods to the car? ive heard things work well once it has adjusted. true?
