There is a dye that you can put in your oil to tell where it is leaking. This dye can only be seen with a blacklight so it's best to get under there at night to try to find it (with a blacklight of course).

Clean the oil that is on there now off of the engine. Put the dye in your oil. Either run the car for a while at idle, or take it for a little drive--not too far coz you don't want it blowing all over if it is leaking.

After that, just get under there and look around with the black light. Once you can see where it is coming from, you'll have a better idea of what it might be.

On my old 2.2, it leaked oil from the tranny seal and from the oil pan on that side.

That is some really intelligent advice. I would definitely listen to this guy since he obviously knows what he is talking about.

Don't worry about putting this in the "wrong" forum, it happens. If it is that big of a deal, the mods will move it.

at any rate, good luck with this problem. If you need any more help on this--e-mail me.

"yay!" -and the villagers rejoice for price valiant has come to the rescue!

lol dude, read the progression of posts. they're laid out in sequential order to avoid people getting cofused like you just did. but since you didn't figure it out, let me explain it for you.

this was posted in the performance forum, hence the second post in the thread. (i quoted them above for you) now since that was said, i suggested maybe he was asking about a performance mod.

bear with me as this is where it gets tricky, and i'm sure this is a new topic for you; introducing... humor. <tada.wav plays> it was a joke, i'll let you classify it under whichever heading you want; sarcastic, ironic, it fits so many.

well that's pretty much it. so enjoy, read the thread a few more times slowly if you still don't get it. if there's anything you still don't understand tomorrow, i'll be happy to explain.

just a general tip: should you discover your oil plug is leaking or say it gets cross threaded, teflon tape works wonders.
