...ok, this is the set-up Im gonna buy within 2 weeks (I have a combination of exhaust weld-leaks, bent down pipe, and a rattle-ly cat, time to replace).. : pacesetter header (an armorcoat this time), 94035 magnaflow cat, magnaflow 18in resonator, and 14 in. dynomax offset in/exit muffler. anyone run a similar set up? I would like to run the same exit as before...wish I had a digital camera, but my current cat-back pipe has a 75 degree bend just before the rear driver's side tire, and exits there. think i have enough room to run the cat, resonator, and muffler, with enough room after the muffler for a short pipe to bend and exit before the rear tire? thanks in advance..

I wouldn't run it in front of the rear tire unless you have no bumps where you live or how high have you lifted your car? If not get used to it scraping on bumps.
Semper Fi SAINT. May you rest in peace.
thats BS jackalope. i had a 3in sidepipe for 4 months and only scraped 2 twice...when i had to hop up a center median to make a quick u turn to avoid some...uh...people with flashing lights. yeah that'll work
you'd be suprised how little will actually scrape if you keep it in the channel thats there and run it out the side

I used to race cars, now I race myself.

...yeah, thats actually why i run a side-exit...it scrapes less for me than running a regular rear exit..weird, but true. I scraped my normal, canister style muffler all the time when I had a normal exit, but never scrape it now...plus, i save a lil weight with less piping.
im jacking my own post, lol. anyone with an answer for me?

some cars will scrape with side exhaust hypsy, mainly because the people who installed it put it on the hanger pretty low, or their car itself is low...
as for exhaust scrapping on the rear, most cannon style mufflers are prone to it, especially when going up an incline or any time the cars front is higher than the rear on a street (i.e. making a turn up a hill, the transition causes the scrape)
however side or rear, any exhaust thats tucked will have no issues...
p.s. hypsy.... so hows your car and times and show stuff commin along. you;ve progessed pretty damn farther than many have done in the 6 years i;ve been here in less than a year.
talk to the shop that does it and make sure they build it so it stays as much inside the channel underneath the car as possible. you should be just fine if you take it easy. however, i don't really know about the side exit and getting all that in there. should you do it that way. you will have to have virtually no b pipe after the header, pretty much just the cat, then resonator, then bend for side exit.if you run side exit, then what's a muffler for? just keep the resonator and that will mute it down a bit.

...thank you, spotabee, you always give me a knowledgeable response. do ya think just the glasspack resonator will quiet it down significantly? A looong one, gonna get a 25inch+one. I currently HAVE no muffler or resonator, just the side exit, lol... Also, i currently just bought as thrush resonator, but i recently learned that it only has a 2inch i.d. anyone know of a straight thru glasspcak with a 2 1/4 inch i.d.? im specifically looking at a magnaflow one...thanks!

get the biggest resonator you can get.... i was able to fit a 30 inch under there.... and thats before the bend at the gas tank.
